Still predominantly fee-for-service with narrow carve-outs — the state says it is "moving from the traditional fee-for-service system to a managed care model" but "The shift to a managed care model has been delayed to January 1, 2030"; today the only managed plans are the "Idaho Behavioral Health Plan" (Magellan), the "Idaho Smiles dental plan" (MCNA) and the dual-eligible "Medicare Medicaid Coordinated Plan (MMCP) and Idaho Medicaid Plus plans (IMPlus)" (Molina Healthcare of Idaho and UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Idaho). Working Idaho hours
Idaho runs on Mountain time, 12 hours behind our floor in Rawalpindi. To be at a desk for your nine to five, the shift here runs 9pm to 5am, and 8pm to 4am once the clocks go forward. Pakistan does not observe daylight saving, so the shift moves on this side rather than yours.
One wrinkle worth naming: the northern panhandle runs on Pacific time. If your practice sits on that side of the line, say so on the call and the shift is set to your clock rather than the one most of the state keeps.
That is the part that decides whether follow-up happens at all: a payer’s phone lines are open on Idaho hours and nobody else’s.
