Read your aged AR report in seconds

Drop in the aged AR export from your practice-management system. The page adds it up in your browser — the file is never sent anywhere — and shows what share of the money is past 90 days, which payers hold it, and which lines a person working the queue would open first. It does not guess what is recoverable; the free audit answers that in writing.

What the numbers mean

Past 90 days is the share of your outstanding balance that has aged beyond the point where most commercial payers' timely filing and appeal windows start closing — the exact limit is per payer and per state, and the timely filing table quotes each one. Money past 120 days has usually been touched once and dropped; it is where a queue-working seat spends its first month.

Concentration is how much of the past-90 balance sits with a handful of payers. High concentration is good news: one payer's portal, one set of denial reasons, one call queue. Spread thin across twenty payers, the same dollars take far longer to work.

Questions

Does the aged AR report get uploaded anywhere when I use this analyzer?

No. The analyzer sends nothing anywhere. The file is read by your browser, added up in your browser, and gone when you close the tab. Aged AR exports carry patient names and account numbers, which is exactly why this tool was built not to send anything.

Which practice-management system exports does the AR aging analyzer read?

Any CSV or tab-separated export with either bucket columns (0–30, 31–60, 61–90, 91–120, 120+ in the usual spellings) or one balance column and one age-in-days column. It groups by a payer, insurance, carrier or financial-class column when it finds one. If it cannot find enough, it tells you which columns it saw rather than guessing.

Why does the analyzer not tell me how much of my aged AR is recoverable?

Because it cannot know that from the totals, and a number invented to look useful would be the first thing repeated on a call and the first thing to be wrong. What is recoverable depends on the denial reasons, the timely filing limits and the payer mix behind each line. The free AR audit is a person reading the same report and answering that question in writing.

What is a reasonable share of accounts receivable past 90 days for a medical practice?

Lower is better and the answer depends on specialty and payer mix, so this page does not print a benchmark it cannot source. What it shows is your own figure and which payers hold it — the two numbers a person working the queue starts from.

What should I do with the summary the analyzer produces?

Paste it into the free AR audit form. It contains payer names and dollar totals only, so it carries no protected health information. If you want the full report read line by line, that happens after a signed business associate agreement, never by email.

Or have somebody work the past-90 queue

An AR and denials seat is one named person, full time, on the lines this page just showed you, inside your system. Twenty minutes on a call is enough to tell whether it pays for itself.
