What a seat costs against hiring locally
A Soft Home Global seat runs $1,500 to $2,500 per month depending on the role. The same role hired in the United States costs base salary plus roughly 9% employer payroll tax, about $8,400 in health cover and a few thousand for a desk and software. This works out the difference on your own numbers, and nothing is stored against you.
About these numbers
Where do the salary figures come from?
They are public market midpoints for the equivalent United States role, pre-filled so the calculator opens with something sensible. They are not quotes and they are not what we think you should pay. Change the number to your city and your offer.
Why add payroll tax and benefits to the salary?
Because a salary of $55,000 is not a cost of $55,000. Employer FICA plus unemployment insurance runs around 9%, single-coverage health cover averages roughly $8,400 a year on the employer side, and a desk with equipment and software seats is a few thousand more. A comparison that ignores those is not a comparison.
Does the seat price include everything?
The seat fee is the whole invoice. No setup fee, no recruitment cost, no equipment, no benefits, no payroll tax, and no percentage of what you collect. Software licences inside your own system and clearinghouse fees stay yours, because they always were.
What does the calculator deliberately not model?
Recruitment cost and the weeks a seat sits empty while you hire. Turnover, which in US billing roles runs high. The management time both options need. And it assumes equal productivity, which depends far more on training and worklist quality than on geography.
