Clearinghouses and payer gateways
Optum billing and AR support
We put trained full-time people inside your own Optum tenant, through a login you issue, working US hours. No migration, no software to buy, one month minimum.
We are not a partner, reseller or certified vendor of Optum
Optum (also known as Change Healthcare) is a product of its own vendor and the name is their trademark. We have built nothing with them, we are endorsed by none of them, and we hold no product certification. What we do is put a trained person into your tenant, under your login, to work your queues. That is the whole claim, and it is checkable on your first call.
What it is
A large clearinghouse and revenue cycle services group, following the combination of Change Healthcare into Optum. Many practices still refer to it as Change.
Who runs it: Practices, billing companies and health systems of every size.
How the money moves through it
Claims, remittance and eligibility transactions route through the clearinghouse, with rejections and status returned for work. A practice may also hold direct payer connections alongside it.
The queues a seat works
- Front-end rejections
- Claim status
- Remittance retrieval and posting
What a seat does, day to day
A seat works your rejection and remittance queues and rings the payers where the transaction does not answer the question.
What goes wrong here
- Where a practice has both a clearinghouse connection and direct payer portals, claims can be worked twice or not at all. Decide which is the source of truth for status.
What this costs
An ar calling & denial management seat working your Optum queues is $1,700 a month, full time, one month minimum.
Questions
Do you work in Optum?
Yes — inside your own tenant, through a login you issue. We do not migrate you, we do not require a software change, and we are not a partner, reseller or certified vendor of Optum. A seat is a trained person working your queues.
What does a seat actually do in Optum?
A seat works your rejection and remittance queues and rings the payers where the transaction does not answer the question.
What does it cost?
Seats run from $1,500 to $2,500 a month depending on the role, published per role on the pricing page. One month minimum, so the practice risks one month to find out whether it works.
How does access work?
You issue a named login with the narrowest role that covers the queue. A signed business associate agreement is in place before any credential is issued, never after.
All product names and trademarks are the property of their respective owners. Workflows vary by version and by configuration; nothing here describes any individual tenant.
