Why we know this state
Florida enacted a prevailing wage law in 1933 and repealed it in 1979, and the local ordinances that replaced it in places are going too. Check which rule you are actually under before you file. Miami-Dade's Responsible Wages and Benefits requirement now applies only to County construction contracts awarded before 1 July 2024, after HB 705 redefined what counts as a public works project; the County says so on its own page. HB 433 preempts the remaining local wage mandates from 30 September 2026. A Florida contractor filing to a city ordinance on a contract awarded after those dates is filing to a rule that no longer binds them, and a contractor who assumes there is no requirement at all misses Davis-Bacon on the federally funded job.
